Meet Cindy Cleveland

Hi, I’m Cindy Cleveland – the principal owner and lead instructor of Heart Start Training Services. I’ve spent more than 20 years in the medical field, and I’m proud to serve my community as a nationally registered EMT (NREMT), currently working on an ambulance in Cass County, MI.

Teaching is one of my passions. In 2020, I earned my EMS Instructor-Coordinator (EMSIC) Certification, which allows me to teach and mentor future first responders.  For the past four years, I’ve been a lab instructor in the EMS program at Kalamazoo Valley Community College (KVCC), where I get to help future first responders build their skills and confidence.

I started Heart Start Training Services in 2014 because I saw a need for hands-on, high-quality emergency care training. Today, I offer:

• American Heart Association courses: Basic Life Support (BLS)
  
  

• Health and Safety Institute courses: First Aid, CPR, and AED
  
  

• Pediatric First Aid and CPR/AED
  
  

I also provide private classes for businesses, organizations, and community groups, as well as consultations for daycare centers and long-term care facilities.

When I’m not teaching or on the ambulance, you’ll probably find me in my garden with my dogs—and almost always with a cup of coffee in hand!
